We care for our places and planet. We champion wellbeing and play our part in society by acting progressively for the betterment of our colleagues, customers and communities.
Our pillars of Better Beyond Adventure are:
Environmental responsibility is always central to our thinking. We’re taking important steps to minimise our impact on the places in which we live and work, and on the precious planet we all share.
We’re a people business and supporting the health and wellbeing of our employees and guests is at the heart of everything we do.
We want to help make a better, fairer world. Through governing progressively and acting as a force for good, we ’re determined to play our part.
Who will you be?
Our Better Beyond Adventure journey is well underway as we continue to develop and deliver more initiatives across PGL. We also know that there’s still much more to do… but there is power in numbers and the more people involved the more we can achieve. This is why every member of #TEAMPGL has the opportunity to play their part, and through working together we can make a better word! What part will you play?
Adventurers
Kathryn
Kathryn, our ESG manager, leads our Better Beyond Adventure strategy and is focused on delivering all of our fantastic Better Beyond Adventure projects. Kathryn works with all of our business areas to integrate Better Beyond Adventure across PGL, whether that be striving for sustainability, supporting wellness and wellbeing for our people, or showing up in our local community. Kathryn is especially proud of her recent work to develop a colleague volunteering programme in partnership with Neighbourly – colleagues get an annual allocation of in work volunteering time. Kathryn is also in regular contact with the broad network of cheerleaders across the business (known as Ambassadors) who help bring the strategy to life at all our locations.
Activators
Gemma
Gemma has led the charge in getting our carbon offsetting offer right. In response to feedback and using her expertise, Gemma has worked with our Carbon partner to source a UK tree planting project. Meaning we plant trees in the UK to offset our carbon footprint. Gemma has also led the membership application process for joining the EAUC (The Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education) & we’re currently the only student travel company to be members!
Ambassadors
Jamie
Jamie is one of our key BBA Ambassadors in the space of charity fundraising and volunteers. The role of the Ambassador is a special one as it’s a motivator, a cheerleader – someone who really brings our Better Beyond Adventure work to life. Jamie has been brilliant at bringing our fun value to life through the numerous charity events at Osmington Bay. This is clear from the engagement of the team and wide range of events for Youth Adventure Trust and Teenage Cancer Trust. Their legendary annual charity auction has been running for many years but it doesn’t stop there…there’s all manner of events from quizzes to treks.
